Hangover is a rip of of the first Ice Age movie

I also like the Avatar concept because it reminds me of today’s times in which we as internet users, have avatars, especially noticeable in MMORPGs.

I know that oftentimes with this kind of technology, there’s an uncanny valley effect, like with the Robert Zemeckis technology, which creeps me out personally. But Avatar looked realistic enough to be believable and not creepy-looking. And I guess everything’s derived (or influenced) from something. It can be argued that the lightsaber in Star Wars is like Excalibur. And personally, I didn’t like it’s extremely thinly-veiled anti-colonialist/imperialist attacks; it could have been more subtle.

I definately compared it to both the last samurai and dances with wolves, and the girl I went with mentioned pocchohontis. (if thats spelled right) But it was in an all new setting and had a different feel to it that made it less of a sob story than the aformentioned.

going to see Clash of the Titans as school field trip, lol

What I think is original about this film is, the sad truth, that he can never really be a part of this group, or tribe, that he love, because he is actually a human cripple who can’t even breath on their planet.

And every night he has to go back to his shitty body, so that he can go back to helping the humans plot a way to destroy the place which he loves.

… and just like in the last Samurai, you kinda feel – like this “place” has an emotional value for yourself as well

muahahahaa 4th time seeing it going for 5

In Avatar i actually thought that the future is or i hope will be like The Navi Tribe and like Pandora cuz i too care about the enviorment and i hope i can do that al so i wish to be connected with the living things and the entire forest

    Dont u MoviePreveiwCritic ? do u?

Dont u have a connection with a certain movie and u kept watching it and watching it until a new one came out and u started doing the same thing

  10. SilvaShadow1990 says:

it kinda is…its like 3d and hd combined and wat makes it betta is to sit under the screen to get the best sound…

I HATE that people call this a rip-off. The concept of a person entering another society whatever it may be, it is a part of HUMAN DRAMA. As long as people will have different cultures than one another, this story will exist. It adapted it flawlessly. Where I disagree with you is the characters. I thought the characters were totally believable. Some have said the villains were too “evil,” and I counter that by saying that evil, whatever form it may take, is part of the human condition.

  12. redsoxfan3418 says:

I totally agree. The basic premise was similar to Dances with Wolves, but it added so much to it. People saying that it is a rip off are bullshit.

  13. moviepreviewcritic says:

    Definitely see it in 3-D!

  14. CuteFluffyKittyCat says:

Do you think that Avatar 3D is better than Avatar 2D. It probably is but I would like to make sure. Bye.

  15. mightyhanzy says:

    booo! i want movie!

  16. pockyobsessed says:

my biggest issue with people is that they are too critical. I mean Avatar and Pochahantas are two completely different stories. No one in Pochahantas is blue or humanoid and they definitly arn’t nine feet tall. Avatar was an incredible movie and stupid, no life people wanna say that its ripping off other movies. Avatar is original, yes there may be similarities between this movie and others but not the same. Avatar is pure genius.

  17. quitejaded says:

(not in direct response to u) I think the tree-hugging thing… it was heavy handed but the fact that they qualify this with the forest being emotionally and biologically connected to the Navi makes it more acceptable and ‘important’

  18. quitejaded says:

I listen to your videos as I play farmville. :P

BUt I just watched The Avatar on IMAX 3D… … amazing amazing amzing! Don’t watch it any other way!

  19. dragonheart333 says:

I honesly don’t like this movie, I felt I was bashed in the head with metaphors. I like metaphors as much the last guy but I like more sultue (sp?).

  20. fourth1000 says:

Yes Avatar borrows from Dances with wolves etc… so many movie when split down the movie can seem like other movies.

Robocop and Spawn have the same story.

Rocky Balboa = Mr. Smith goes to washington and Gataca are about the same type of underdog character who takes a shot at doing something great.

  21. LukeLovesRose says:

No one is gonna rest until they tear this wonderful film to pieces!!

  22. logalogalog says:

    Yeah! awesome comment!

  23. Djmoyd1055 says:

    At the movies?

  24. GranddaughterCoyote says:

exactly! People keep sayin’ aah, it’s just a suped up version of pocahontas. Well, that’s ok, isn’t it? Nothing WRONG with it, there have been movie REMAKES for Christ’s sake and people haven’t flipped out over it, so why should a few people get upset over Avatar?

  25. ahiskaninaltuni says:

fuck it where is the movie
