The Goods: Live Hard Sell Hard Movie Review. Can Jeremy Piven talk his way into a box office hit? Host Grace Randolph asks audiences if this comedy is worth the sticker price! Brought to you by Indy Mogul and Next New Networks.
i’m not into comedies, i just saw it last night. it was good, you have to take it for what it was. i wouldnt see it again. But I do have it bad for Babs. lol
I see what you’re saying, also the comedy movie Hot Rod had a gay asian dancing around at random times and wearing very gay clothes and prancing arond throwing flyers in the air for several scenes.
Furthermore, such countries as Japan, as China, etc., aren’t as integrated as America is. America’s a place full of immigrants. Just about every single individual here can trace their lineage to another country/culture, etc. Yet, ignorance reigns in America, and those more homogeneous countries have different makeups/histories. America has a history of bringing other racial groups here, exploiting and oppressing them, then trying to discard them. Racism has never gone away.
Granted, there are Asian companies that make fun of Americans, but a lot of people don’t seem to understand there are Asian-Americans in America who are just as American as any other group of people who came here. I’m Asian-American, born and raised here, as American as they get, yet I’m still looked at as a foreigner. It’s as if they expect me to speak in broken English. Even though I don’t, I’m still asked, “Where are you from?” I’m from California. “No, where are you REALLY from?”
sounds bad. i don’t know how many asian people/media make fun of americans/english but i sure havn’t seen any, especially for stereyotyping of a different race/culture…maybe better not to stoop to the low level some american comedies have already fallen to
Unfortunately, it didn’t start with Hangover and The Goods. In more recent decades, it started with the infamous Long Duk Dong character in Sixteen Candles. Just ask any Asian-American coming of age in the 80s, and hear how humiliating it was to be called Long Duk Dong. For many Americans, that was the only Asian person they knew, a complete caricature/racial stereotype. I think The Goods created the gay Asian gangster stereotype. They merged the gay Asian one with the Asian gangster type.
yeah i agree…half the peopel who left the cinema said will ferrel was the best actor…but he was only in the film for about 2-3 mins.
i dont know if there is a gay asian gangster stereotype but thinking its ok to make fun of asian people can be a slippery slope. Starts with this and hangover who knows where it will end up
its like they’re waiting for some1 to complain or sue before they low their blatent racism
The Hangover was bad (with the gay Asian gangster stereotype, why have one anti-Asian stereotype when you can have two?), but The Goods is far worse.
I’ll admit there were funny scenes in The Hangover, but The Goods looks like utter trash. So trashy that even the masses of people who love trashy comedies didn’t see it. It only made around $5 million opening weekend. The Goods is truly inexcusable. Hate crimes aren’t funny. I wonder what’s next, show a brutal rape, blame the victim for laughs?
PIvan was amazing..This guy is the next Will Ferrell

I didnt expect anything out of the Goods, and it surprised me. I laughed my ass, but i can see where it can become a bit much.
you mean jap? just say it
you are fucking crazy, the hangover is fucking too funny from the very second it starts to the very second it ends.
